Sabalenka to open 2019 WTA Elite Trophy Zhuhai against Maria Sakkari

MINSK, 21 October (BelTA) – World number 14 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus will take on Greece world number 22 Maria Sakkari in the first match of the 2019 WTA Elite Trophy Zhuhai on 22 October, BelTA has learned. In the Rose Group, Aryna Sabalenka will also compete against world number 18 Elise Mertens of Belgium. As for other participants of the tournament which will be running in China from 22 to 27 October, Azalea Group will feature Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands (10), Donna Vekic of Croatia (20), and Ukraine's Dayana Yastremska (24). Camellia Group will feature Sofia Kenin of the United States (12), Alison Riske of the United States (19), and Karolina Muchova of the Czech Republic (26). Orchid Group feature Madison Keys of the United States (13), Petra Martic of Croatia (15) and China's Zheng Saisai (40).
